Can I visit to have a look around before I book?
Yes! Drop in whenever we are open.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
If you are a supervising adult and look under 25, you may be asked for identification as proof of age.
What should I wear?
Reasonably close fitting clothing with a bit of stretch is preferable. Bulky jumpers, jackets, Coats and baggy clothing can interfere with the bowstring.
Jewellery and earrings have a risk of being caught by the bowstring. Therefore please remove all facial jewellery, necklaces, and other loose jewellery beforehand.
Nipple piercings should be removed or securely taped to avoid potential snagging of the bowstring.
Watches, simple bracelets and finger rings are acceptable.
Long hair should be tied back.
Is there parking at Archery Legends?
Yes, there is free parking on site for approximately 20 cars. But we do recommend car sharing where possible. Alternate on-street parking is available in the surrounding area. We have two disabled bays outside our building.
Why do I have to sign a waiver
As with any physical activity, there is a risk of personal injury, injury to others and damage to property. The waiver sets out these risks for you to assess and decide if you wish to participate or not.
If you agree to the risks and sign the waiver, you are agreeing that you will not hold us responsible for any accidents or injury that may happen.
If you do not sign the Waiver, you will not be allowed to participate.
What will happen when I arrive?
You will be welcomed at our reception and waivers checked. If you are early, feel free to wander around, watch the other archers and relax in the cafe.
A few minutes before your start time make your way over to the equipment area where a member of staff will meet you.
At your start time, your instructor will allocate your equipment and take you through to the main range where you will be given a safety briefing and demonstration. You will then be walked through all of the steps required to shoot your bow. Your instructor will be on hand for any questions and tips to help you get the most out of your time on the range. They will control when it is safe to shoot and when it is safe to collect arrows.
At the end of the session, you will exit the shooting area and return the equipment. Feel free to watch the next session, have a snack in our cafe and brag about your accomplishments to your friends!
Is there storage on site?
There is a limited amount of storage available for items that can not be left securely in your vehicle. Please leave valuables at home and bulky bags and coats in your car. All items left on our premesis are left at their owners risk.
Are they real bows and arrows?
Yes! We are using high-quality equipment that performs incredibly well. No blaming your bow for that miss!
Is it safe?
Yes! Archery is one of the safest sports you can participate in. If you follow the rules of the range and listen to your instructors you will have an enjoyable experience in a safe environment. Take a look at our ‘Rules of the Range’ for more details.
Do I have to be fit and strong to participate?
Archery is more about skill and mental discipline than it is about power. You do not have to be strong, but a certain level of fitness and upper body mobility is required.
If you have any doubts, please contact us beforehand and we will help. If you have the desire, we will do everything we can to make it happen.
I have a pre-existing injury or medical condition. Can I still shoot?
Our staff are not medical experts and are not in a position to know if you are capable of participating.
We recommend you do not participate until you have consulted a medical professional and assessed the risks yourself.
I've never shot a bow before. What if I miss or don't know what to do?
You will miss! Everyone misses! Archery is one of the simplest, most difficult, most satisfying and frustrating sports you will every try. There is always more to learn.
And if you get stuck, our instructors are on hand to help you out. Don’t be embarrassed or feel self-conscious. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked!
Are Children Allowed?
Yes! But they must be supervised by an adult aged 18+. (16 years and older can self-supervise).
Each activity specifies the supervision ratio that is required for younger children. Please read the activity details to determine supervision ratios.
Non-Participating children must not be left alone. If they are not part of the activity with you, it is not practical for them to be present during the activity. Archery Legends staff are there to help, but they are not there to be the primary carer.
If your children are participating, please expect to get stuck in and help your excited or struggling children handle their equipment and keep everything pointing in the right direction.
Please contact us if you have questions.
I'm an experienced archer, can I use my own equipment?
No. However you can bring own equipment on Pay & Shoot (experienced archers only).
Are you wheel chair friendly?
Yes! If you would like to shoot from a wheelchair please contact us before you book so we can fully understand your needs and make the appropriate arrangements.
